Ifyourcomputerhasoneofthefollowingoptionalexpansionunits,youcanconnectadigitalvisualinterface
(DVI)monitortoyourcomputer:
•ThinkPadMiniDockSeries3
•ThinkPadMiniDockSeries3withUSB3.0
•ThinkPadMiniDockPlusSeries3
•ThinkPadMiniDockPlusSeries3withUSB3.0
Notes:
•ThescreenmodethatcanbeuseddependsonthespecicationsoftheDVImonitor.
•BeforeyouattachtheDVImonitor,makesurethatthecomputerisattachedtotheexpansionunitand
thesystemworksproperly.
ToattachtheDVImonitor,dothefollowing:
1.T urnoffthecomputer.
2.ConnecttheDVImonitortotheDVIconnectoroftheexpansionunit,andthenconnectthemonitor
toanelectricaloutlet.
3.T urnontheDVImonitorandthecomputer.Thesystemstarts.
IfthecomputeroutputdoesnotappearontheDVImonitor,dothefollowing:
•ForacomputerthatsupportsNVIDIAOptimusGraphics:
1.Right-clickonthedesktopandselectNVIDIAControlPanel.TheNVIDIAControlPanelwindow
opens.
2.IntheSelectaT asknavigationpaneatleftunderDisplay,clickSetupmultipledisplays.
3.Right-clickVerifyyourdisplaycongur ation,andthenright-clickonthemonitoriconandselect
eitherCloneModeorExtendedMode.
4.ClickOK.
•ForacomputerthatsupportstheIntel®graphicscard:
1.P ressCtrl+Alt+F12.TheIntelGraphicsandMediaControlP anelwindowopens.
2.SelectAdvancedModeandclickOK.
3.SelectMultipleDisplays.
4.IntheOperatingModeeld,selectanyofthefollowingoptionsandnishothercongurations.
–SingleDisplay:Dependingonyourconguration,thecomputeroutputisdisplayedoneitherthe
computerdisplayortheDVImonitor.
–CloneDisplays:Thesamecomputeroutputisdisplayedonboththecomputerdisplayand
theDVImonitor.
–ExtendedDesktop:Differentcomputeroutputisdisplayedonthecomputerdisplayandthe
DVImonitor.
ConsiderationsforattachingaDVImonitor
ConnecttheDVImonitortotheexpansionunit,andturnitonbeforeyouturnonthecomputer.Otherwisethe
systemcannotrecognizetheDVImonitor.IftheoptionforenablingtheDVImonitorintheDisplayProperties
windowisnotdisplayed,tryclosingthewindowandopeningitagain.Iftheoptionstillisnotdisplayed,make
surethattheconnectorofthemonitorisattachedrmly,andrepeattheprocedureforattachingthemonitor.
