SomeThinkPadmodelshaveanmSATAsolidstatedrive.YoucanreplacethemSATAsolidstatedrivewitha
newonewhichcanbepurchasedfromyourLenovoreselleroramarketingrepresentative.Toreplacethe
mSATAsolidstatedrive,readthefollowingprerequisites.
Notes:
•YoucanalsoreplacethemSATAsolidstatedrivewithaWirelessPCIExpressMiniCardforWirelessWAN.
•ReplacethemSATAsolidstatedriveonlyifyouneedtohaveitrepaired.
Prerequisitesfortheprocedure
WhenreplacingthemSATAsolidstatedrive,besuretofollowthepr ecautions.
Attention:WhenyouarehandlinganmSATAsolidstatedrive:
•DonotdropthemSAT Asolidstatedriveorsubjectittophysicalshocks.PutthemSA TAsolidstatedrive
onamaterial,suchassoftcloththatabsorbsanyphysicalshocks.
•DonotapplypressuretothecoverofthemSAT Asolidstatedrive.
ThemSAT Asolidstatedriveisverysensitive.Incorrecthandlingcancausedamageandpermanentlossof
data.
BeforeremovingthemSATAsolidstatedrive,makeabackupcopyofalltheinformationonit,andthen
turnthecomputeroff.
NeverremovethemSATAsolidstatedrivewhilethesystemisoperating,insleep(standby)mode,orin
hibernationmode.
IfanmSATAsolidstatedriveisavailableinyourcomputer,toreplacethemSATAsolidstat edrive,do
asfollows.
1.T urnoffthecomputer;thendisconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.Waitfor
afewminutes,tilltheinsideofthecomputercools,beforeyoustartthefollowingpr ocedures.
2.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnthecomputerover.
