Replacing the Water Filter
It is recommended that you replace the filter when the water filter indicator light turns on or the water dispenser or ice- maker noticeably decreases production.
NOTE
yFilter Bypass Plug
Keep the filter bypass plug.
You must use the filter bypass plug when a replace- ment filter cartridge is not available.
The icemaker will not operate without the filter or filter bypass plug inserted in the proper compartment.
1Slowly turn the old cartridge to the left. When the car- tridge is released, you will feel it click out of place.
NOTE: Replacing the filter causes a small amount of water (around 1 oz. or 25 cc) to drain.
2Remove the old cartridge. Take the new cartridge out of its packaging, and remove the red cap. Line up the car- tridge ears so that it can be inserted into the filter head.

3Twist the cartridge right about 1/4 turn.
You will feel a stop and the locked symbol should now be lined up with the indicator line.
After replacing the filter, flush 2.5 gallons through filter before use (flush for approximately 5 minutes). Check the filter for leaks.
After changing the filter, press and hold the FILTER button for 3 seconds to turn the indicator light off.
