Videotape Playback Features 37

Slow Motion

1Press kduring playback to pause the video-

tape. Then press i/ gto start slow

motion playback. Sound will be mute during slow

motion playback. Slow motion playback will stop

automatically after five minutes to prevent damage to

the tape.

2Press PLAY Bto return to normal playback.

Forward and Reverse Searching

(SP/LP/SLP)

1During videotape playback, press and release

i/ gor j/ h. A fast forward or reverse

picture search will begin.

2To return to normal playback, press PLAY B .

Super High Speed Searching (LP/SLP)

1During tape playback, press i/ gor j/

h, then press again. The TV/VCR/DVD will now

search in super high speed.

Press i/ gor j/ hrepeatedly to switch

between regular and super high speed searching.

2To return to normal playback, press PLAY B.

Viewing a Still Picture

1During tape playback, press k.

A still picture will appear on the screen. The picture

advances each time you press k.

After a tape is paused for five minutes, playback will

stop automatically. This prevents damage to the tape

and TV/VCR/DVD.

2If the still picture vibrates vertically, stabilize

the picture by pressing CH. ▲/▼.

3To release the still picture and return to nor-

mal playback, press PLAY B.

• SP/LP/SLP means this feature will

work with tapes recorded in

Standard Play, Long Play, or

Super Long Play. LP/SLP means

this feature will work with tapes

recorded in Long Play and Super

Long Play. Tape speed details

are on page 25.

• During forward and reverse

searching, horizontal noise bars

will appear on the screen.
