Enable/Disable Codabar

To enable or disable Codabar, scan the appropriate bar code below.

Set Lengths for Codabar

The length of a code refers to the number of characters (i.e., human readable chara cters), including check digit(s)
the code contains. Set lengths for Codabar for any length, one or two discrete lengths, or lengths within a specific
range.
One Discrete Length - This option allows the digital scanner to decode only those Codabar symbols containing a
selected length. Use th e numeric bar codes in Appendix D, Numeric Bar Codes to select the length. For example,
to decode only Codab ar symb ols with 14 ch ar acters, sca n Coda bar - On e Dis cre te Len gth , the n scan 1 followed
by 4. In case of an error, or to change the selection, scan Cancel on page D-3.
Two Discrete Lengths - This option allows the digital scanner to decode only those Codabar symbols
containing either of two selected l engths. Us e t he nu me ri c ba r c od e s i n Appendix D, Numeric Bar Cod es to select
lengths. For example, to decod e only Codabar symbols cont aining either 2 or 14 chara cters, select Codabar - Two
Discrete Lengths, then scan 0, 2, 1, and then 4. In case of an error, or to change the selection, scan Cancel
on page D-3.
Length Wi thin Range - This option allows the digital scanner to decode a Codabar symbol within a specific
length range. Use the numeric bar codes in Appendix D, Numeric Bar Codes to select the length range. For
example, to decode Codabar symbols containing between 4 and 12 characters, first scan Codabar - Length
Within Range. Then scan 0, 4, 1, and 2 (insert a leading zero for single digit numbers). In case of an error, or to
change the selection, scan Cancel on page D-3.
Any Length - This op tion allows the digital scanner to decode Codabar symbols containing any number of
characters within the digital scanner’s capability.
