The state monitoring function monitors the generation of the following events in the disk array which is an object of
iSM.
<Event>
• Generation of status transition in the components
• Existence of change of a disk array name, a logical disk name and a port name
• Generation of configuration change
• Occurrence of a threshold excess of the quantity used of snapshot
iSM supports the polling mode to acquire the monitoring information in the fixed interval. When the above event is
detected, iSM not only reflects the detected event on the configuration control screen of an iSM client but also outputs
the message to various logs (event log, operation log). Besides, it can perform link processing such as maintenance, as
started by the event detection. For log output and link function, refer to sections 3.5 “Log Output” and 3.6 “Event
Link” in this manual.
