1/8-speed slow motion movies with an aspect ratio of 4:3 are recorded.

kHS 240 fps (320×240) Max. movie length*: 10 s (playback time: 1 min 20 s)

Movie bitrate: 640 kbps

Frame rate: 240 frames per second

1/4-speed slow motion movies with an aspect ratio of 4:3 are recorded.

hHS 120 fps (640×480) Max. movie length*: 15 s (playback time: 1 min)

Movie bitrate: 3 Mbps

Frame rate: 120 frames per second

1/2-speed slow motion movies with an aspect ratio of 16:9 are recorded.

iHS 60 fps (1280×720) Max. movie length*: 30 s (playback time: 1 min)

Movie bitrate: 9 Mbps

Frame rate: 60 frames per second

2× speed fast motion movies with an aspect ratio of 16:9 are recorded.

jHS 15 fps (1920×1080) Max. movie length*: 2 min (playback time: 1 min)

Movie bitrate: 14 Mbps

Frame rate: 15 frames per second

* The maximum recording time refers only to the section shot for slow motion or fast motion playback.

The movie bitrate is the volume of movie data recorded per second. As a variable bitrate (VBR) system has been adopted, the movie recording rate varies automatically according to the subject so that more data is recorded per second for movies containing frequently moving subjects, thus increasing movie file size.

Select whether or not to record slow motion or fast motion movies from the start of the recording when HS movies are recorded.

On

HS movies are recorded when recording begins.

(default setting)

Normal speed movies are recorded when recording begins. Press the

Offkbutton to switch to HS movie recording at the point where the camera should record for slow motion or fast motion playback.
