Installing and Connecting the Hardware

9-pin serial port. For connection to a modem, you will need a NULL modem adapter.

CAUTION:

Use of any non-twisted pair wiring arrangements, such as jumpers, can cause reduction in overall DSL reach performance, even over short distances. Please refer to the Special Notice shipped with this product.

NOTE:

Each HotWire 8600 DSLAM chassis weighs approximately nine pounds (with circuit cards) and can be easily installed by one installer.
