All modes of operation may not apply with all selections of rate adaptation protocols.

When &D is set to 3, assertion of the DTR signal causes a software reset of the CTA 500dm, even if it is already in the command state.

If the CTA 500dm detects that it has been enumerated by a Windows95 Plug and Play software driver, the &D3 reset takes place only when the CTA 500dm is in one of the on-line states. Otherwise, the assertion of DTR indicates the possible request for the Windows95 Plug and Play identiÞcation string.
