Charging the Battery

6 Charging is complete.

The power-on lamp (orange) stops blinking when charging is complete.

7 Disconnect the camera and AC adapter.

Disconnect the AC adapter from the camera’s multi connector.

Be sure to unplug the power cable from the power outlet.

Turning On and Off the Camera

To turn on the camera, press the power switch. The power-on lamp (green) will light and the monitor will turn on. To turn off the camera, press the power switch again.

If the camera is turned off, hold down i to turn the camera on in playback mode (c 28).

Only use the power cable for the AC Adapter EH-64 (supplied) for the COOLPIX S51c.

lConnecting the AC Adapter EH-64

The AC Adapter EH-64 (supplied) can:

When the camera is turned on, power the camera from a power outlet.

When the camera is turned off, charge the battery in the camera (c 16).

It can also be used to power the camera for playback, data transfer, or printing (recommended). Do not, under any circumstances, use another make or model of AC adapter. Failure to observe this precaution could result in fire or product malfunction.

The AC adapter and the supplied audio video/USB cable cannot be used at the same time.

lCharging the Battery with the Battery Charger

The Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL8 can also be charged using the Battery Charger MH-62 (available separately from Nikon) (c 150).
