Notes

•Never format the recorder from the PC.

•Upon formatting, all existing data including files for which File Lock was set and read-only files are lost.

•To format the setting of each function, conduct [Reset Settings] (☞ P. 112).

•When inserting an SD card into the recorder, always check whether the recording medium to be operated is [Internal memory] or [SD card] (☞ P. 108).

•Replace the battery with a new one in order to ensure that the battery does not go flat during formatting. In addition, it may take over 10 seconds to complete formatting. Never perform operations such as the following during format- ting, as such operations may damage the data.

1Disconnect the AC Adapter during format- ting.

2Remove the battery during formatting.

3Remove the SD card during formatting when [SD card], removing the SD card during processing.

•When the SD card is formatted using the recorder, the SD card will be the quick format. [Format] does not completely delete the data in the SD card. It only updates the file management information. When transferring or discarding the recorder, be careful that data is not leaked from the SD card. It is recommended to destroy the SD card before discarding the recorder.
