Using the Snooze Function

Using the Timers—Continued

Using the Snooze Function

Once timed playback has started, pressing a [SNOOZE] button will stop playback for a set number of minutes. Once the snooze time has expired, playback will start again, just like the snooze function you find on a typical alarm clock. The default snooze time is 5 minutes, but can be set from 1 to 30 minutes in 1-minute increments. While the timed playback is within the specified On and Off times, you can use the Snooze function any number of times.

Timer Setting

When setting the timer, select Snooze On (see page 43). When timer programming is complete, an underscore Manual backgroundManual background appears below the timer’s number, indicating that the Snooze function can be used with that timer.

Snooze in Use

Once timed playback has started, press the remote con- troller’s [SNOOZE] button or a SNOOZE button on the CBX-300’s top panel (see above illustration) to snooze. Playback will stop temporarily and the snooze time will be shown on the display. Once the snooze time has expired, playback will start again.

Setting the Snooze Time

You can change the snooze time, but only during timed playback (i.e., while the timer is On).

Press the [SNOOZE] button to snooze. While the snooze time is displayed brightly for 8 seconds, use the Previous and Next [Manual backgroundManual background ]/ [ Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background ] buttons to set the snooze time from 1 to 30 minutes.

The new snooze time will be used the next the Snooze function is used.

Notes:

If you press a [SNOOZE] button while the CBX-300 is snoozing, the snooze period will start again.

To cancel snooze while the CBX-300 is snoozing, press the [STANDBY/ON] button. The timer will be turned off and the CBX-300 will go on Standby.

When a timer is set with Snooze On, during timed playback, the Previous [Manual backgroundManual background/Manual background], Next [Manual backgroundManual background /Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background],

CD Play/Pause [ Manual background / Manual backgroundManual background ], Stop [Manual background], and Eject [Manual background ] but- tons on the CBX-300’s top panel work as SNOOZE buttons. To use the functions normally performed by these buttons, use the equivalent buttons on the remote controller instead. To eject a CD with the Eject [Manual background ] button, either wait until the timer has turned itself off at the programmed Off time, or cancel the timer by pressing the [TIMER] button.

Even if the CBX-300 is snoozing, at the Off time pro- grammed for the timer, the CBX-300 will go on Standby and playback will not start again.
