Perform digital recording to record the signal input to the optical digital input terminal of the CDR- 205X. The track numbers are recorded as is from the input source. The recording level can be adjusted manually.

Types of digital source that can be recorded

The CDR-205X contains an internal sampling rate converter, and therefore can record digital signals of the sampling rates given below.

44.1 kHz (CDs, etc.)

32 kHz (DAT, satellite broadcasts, etc.)

48 kHz (DAT, satellite broadcasts, etc.)

Note:

When performing a digital recording from HDCDs, DTS CDs, and the like, be sure to set the recording level to 0 dB (see page 29). Since the recording level is set automatically (DLA) when dubbing a disc using the CD DUBBING button, recording cannot be performed.

Preparation

Turn on the CDR-205X (see page 15).

Place a recordable CD-R or CD-RW in the CDR- 205X (see page 16).

Verify that the input dial and recording selection button of the amplifier are set to the position of the recording source.

1 Repeatedly press the INPUT button until "Digital In1" or "Digital In2" appears.

INPUT

or

Note:

Verify to which digital input the optical digital cable is connected. If you select the digital input to which the cable is not connected, "D.In Unlock" will appear.

2 Adjust the recording level (see page 29)

3 Press the oREC button (or the remote controller REC obutton).

"Rec setup" appars in the display followed by the time display (the recording standby state).

4 Press the nbutton (or the remote controller sbutton) and start the recording source.

Recording starts. The track numbers are automatically recorded as well. If the entire disc becomes filled with recordings, the CDR-205X automatically stops.

To pause the recording

Press the nbutton (or the remote controller g button). To resume recording, press the nbutton (or the remote controller sbutton).

To stop the recording

Press the ebutton.

Notes:

When digitally recording satellite broadcasts, the track numbers may not be assigned properly. If this occurs, turn off the level sync function and set the track numbers manually.

If the time between tracks is extremely short, the track numbers may not be assigned properly.
