P Fast Forward [ ] button

Press and hold to fast forward.

QStop [F] button

Stops playback and displays a menu.

RPLAY MODE button

SRANDOM button*

Used with the shuffle function.

Selects play modes on components with selectable play modes.

Works as a Resume button when used with a DS-A2 RI Dock.

*Buttons marked with an asterisk (*) are not supported by 3rd generation iPod models.

Controlling a Cassette Recorder

By pressing the REMOTE MODE button that’s been programmed with the remote control code for your cas- sette recorder, you can control your cassette recorder with the following buttons.

The [TAPE] REMOTE MODE button is preprogrammed with the remote control code for controlling an Onkyo

cassette recorder when used with an Manual backgroundManual background connection.

For details on entering a remote control code for a differ- ent component, see page 64.

On twin cassette decks, only Deck B can be controlled.

AON/STANDBY button

Turns the cassette recorder on or off.

BPrevious and Next [Manual background]/[Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background] buttons

The Previous [Manual background ] button selects the previous track. During playback it selects the beginning of the current track. The Next [Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background] button selects the next track.

Depending on how they were recorded, the Previous and Next [Manual background ]/[Manual backgroundManual backgroundManual background] buttons may not work prop- erly with some cassette tapes.

CRewind and Fast Forward [Manual background]/[Manual backgroundManual background ] buttons

The Rewind [Manual background] button starts rewind. The Fast Forward [Manual backgroundManual background ] button starts fast forward.

DReverse Play [Manual background] button

Starts reverse playback.

EPlay [Manual background ] button

Starts playback.

FMUTING button (40)

Mutes or unmutes the AV receiver.

G VOL [Manual background]/[ ] button (39)

Adjusts the volume of the AV receiver.

HStop [Manual background] button

Stops playback.

Note:

An Onkyo cassette recorder connected via Manual background can also be controlled in Receiver mode.

*With someManual backgroundcomponents, certain buttons may not work as expected, and some may not work at all.
