Controlling a TV

By pressing the [TV] REMOTE MODE button that’s been programmed with the remote control code for your TV (TV/DVD combination or TV/VCR combination), you can control your TV with the following buttons.

For details on entering a remote control code for a differ- ent component, see page 64.

Press [TV] REMOTE MODE button first

AON/STANDBY, TV [ ] buttons

Set the TV to On or Standby.

B TV VOL []/[ ] button

Adjust the TV’s volume.

CTV [INPUT] button

Selects the TV’s external inputs.

DGUIDE button

Displays the program guide.

E Arrow []/[ ]/[]/[ ] and ENTER buttons

A

Used to navigate menus and select items.

K	F SETUP button
	Displays a menu.

TV		G Playback buttons
	L	From left to right: Previous, Rewind, Pause, Play,
		Stop, Fast Forward, and Next.
A	M	These buttons works for combination devices.
B		H REPEAT button
C		Selects B (green).
		I SEARCH button
D	N
		Selects A (red).
E		J Number buttons
F	O	Enter numbers. 0 button enters 11 on some compo-
		nents. +10 button works as “-.--” button or +10.

		K DISPLAY button
		Displays information.
G		L MUTING button

H	Q	Mutes the TV.
		M CH +/– button
I	R	Select channels on the TV.

		N PREV CH button
J		Selects the previous or last channel.
		O RETURN button
	S	Exits the TV’s setup menu.
		P AUDIO button
		Selects foreign language soundtracks and audio for-
		mats (e.g., Dolby Digital or DTS).

*With some components, certain buttons may not work as expected, and some may not work at all.

QRANDOM button

Selects C (blue).

RPLAY MODE button

Selects D (yellow).

SCLR button

Cancels functions and clears entered numbers, or enters 12.
