Preset Manual

Preset manual is effective with mixed lighting or to compensate for light sources with a strong color cast (for example, to make pictures taken under a lamp with a red shade look as though they had been taken under white light).

1Place a white or gray reference object under the lighting that will be used during shooting.

2Display shooting menu (A98), use the multi selector to choose bPreset manual in the White balance menu and press the k button.

The camera zooms in.

3Choose Measure.

To apply the most recently measured value for preset manual, choose Cancel and press the kbutton.

4 Frame the reference object.

5Press the kbutton.

The shutter is released and the new white-balance value is set. No picture is recorded.

BNote on Preset Manual

It is impossible to measure a value for preset manual that takes flash lighting into account. When

102using flash, select Auto or Flash for the White balance setting.
