Shooting for a Panorama

The camera focuses on the subject at the center of the frame. Use a tripod for the best results. Set Vibration reduction (A126) to Off in setup menu (A117)

when using a tripod to stabilize the camera.

1 Press the Abutton in shooting mode to display the shooting-mode selection menu and use the multi selector to select p(Panorama assist) scene mode (A36).

Panorama direction icons are displayed to show the direction in which pictures will be joined.

2 Use the multi selector to choose the direction and press the kbutton.

Select the direction in which pictures will be joined in the completed panorama; right (I), left (J), up (K) or down (L).

The yellow panorama direction icon (II) is displayed for 12 the current direction and the direction is fixed when kis

pressed. The icon changes to the white fixed direction Iicon.

If necessary, apply flash mode (A30), self-timer (A32), macro mode (A33) and exposure compensation (A34) settings with this step.

Press the kbutton again to choose a different direction.

3 Frame the first portion of the panorama scene and take the first picture.

One third of the picture will be displayed as translucent.

Scenes to Suited Shooting

4Take the next picture.

Frame the next picture so that one third of the frame overlaps the first picture, and press the shutter-release button.

Repeat this process until the necessary number of pictures has been taken to complete the scene.
