Taking Pictures using Panning Mode

1

Panning is a technique of moving the camera

tracking a subject in motion.

2

Using a slower shutter speed when tracking a

subject, you can sharply photograph a subject

in motion while blurring the background.

In very bright summer daylight, if the shutter

speed cannot be set slow enough to blur the

background, please use the ND filter

(DMW-LND55, optional). (P63)

Please try to use the prefocus technique to

reduce the time for focusing while shooting a

fast moving subject. (P39)

3 Keep moving the camera continuously.

It is difficult to adjust the focus when the subject has already appeared. Adjust the focus in advance to the point where the subject is likely to appear.

Set the AF trigger to [FOCUS] and you can fix the focus even if you press the shutter button halfway. (P39)

[AUTO] setting in [W.BALANCE] works best when recording outdoors in the daytime. When using indoors, the color balance can change. You can change the white balance setting. (P58)

In this mode, the stabilizer function is activated on vertical direction only. The stabilizer function on horizontal direction is cancelled.
