Advanced (Recording pictures)

•You can finely adjust the white balance independently for each white balance item.

•The white balance fine adjustment setting is reflected in the picture when using the flash.

•The white balance fine adjustment setting is memorized even if the camera is turned off.

•You cannot finely adjust the white balance when [COL.EFFECT] (P85) is set to [COOL], [WARM], [B/W] or [SEPIA].

•The fine adjustment levels in [ ] or [ ] return to the standard setting (center point) if you reset the white

balance in [ ].

•You cannot finely adjust the white balance in [SCENERY], [PANNING],

[NIGHT PORTRAIT], [NIGHT SCENERY], [FOOD], [PARTY], [CANDLE LIGHT], [SUNSET], [STARRY SKY], [FIREWORKS], [BEACH], [SNOW] and [AERIAL PHOTO] in scene mode.

Setting the light sensitivity

Press [ SET ] to display the [REC] mode menu and select the item to set. (P76) ISO is a measure of sensitivity to light. The higher the sensitivity is set, the less light is needed to take a picture so the camera becomes more suitable for recording in dark places.

•When setting to [AUTO], the ISO sensitivity is automatically adjusted from [ISO100] to [ISO200] according to the brightness. (It can be adjusted from [ISO100] to [ISO400] when using the flash.)

•The ISO sensitivity cannot be set to [AUTO] in Manual exposure.

•ISO sensitivity is fixed to [ISO3200] in [HIGH SENS.] (P67) in scene mode.

•To avoid picture noises, we recommend reducing the ISO sensitivity, setting [NOISE REDUCTION] in [PICT.ADJ.] to [HIGH] or setting the items except [NOISE REDUCTION] to [LOW] to take pictures. (P86)

•The ISO sensitivity is set to [ISO LIMIT] in intelligent ISO sensitivity mode [ ]. (P52)

•Refer to P58 for information about Shutter speed.

•ISO sensitivity cannot be set in the following cases.

–Simple mode []

–Motion picture mode [ ]
