Preparation
Setup Your Computer
The following software programs are included on the CD-ROM supplied with this
drive.
It is necessary to install the driver software to use this drive.
Install the following driver software first.
1. USB Driver
This is a device driver for Windows 98SE / Windows Me. If you use
Windows 98SE / Windows Me, it is necessary to install this driver first.
BInstall the USB Driver from the CD-ROM.
2. UDF Reader
UDF Reader is driver software for reading DVD-RAMs in UDF 2.0 format.
(DVD-RAMs recorded with a DVD video recorder are formatted in UDF 2.0.)
UDF Reader installation is required for Windows OSs other than Windows XP.
BInstall the UDF Reader from the CD-ROM.

Install applications as you require (see p.38).

For Windows Me, this drive can be operated with the OS standard USB
driver, but it is possible that malfunctions will occur. We recommend you
install the USB Driver supplied with this drive.
BFor Windows 98SE, use a working drive for installation other than this
drive.

UDF Reader and USB Driver can be installed at the same time.
