Before cleaning the projector /

replacing components

Attention
zTurn off the <MAIN POWER> switch and disconnect
the power plug from the wall outlet before cleaning the
projector/replacing components.
zFollow the “Switching off the power” procedure when
turning off the projector. ( page 30)

Cleaning the projector

Cleaning the outer surface of the

projector

Wipe off dirt and dust gently with a soft dry cloth.
zIf it is difcult to remove the dirt, soak a cloth in water,
wring the cloth well and then wipe the projector. Dry
the projector with a dry cloth.
zDo not use petroleum benzene, thinner, any
alcoholic solvent, or kitchen detergents. Using these
substances may result in changes or damage to the
surface of the projector.
zWhen using a chemically treated cloth, follow the
accompanying guidelines.

Cleaning the lens surface

If dirt or dust accumulates on the surface of the lens, it will
be enlarged and projected onto the screen.
Wipe dirt and dust from the front of the lens gently with a
clean, soft, and dry cloth.
zDo not use a uffy rag, or a greasy, wet, or dirty
cloth.
zDo not rub the lens harshly as this may damage the
surface.
Attention
zThe lens is made of glass. It may break or crack if struck
with a hard object or rubbed harshly. Please be careful
when handling the lamp.

Air lter unit

If too much dust accumulates in the air lter the internal
temperature of the projector cannot be maintained at the
normal level. A conrmation message is displayed on the
screen, and at the same time <TEMP> illuminates red. The
power is cut off automatically after a while. Clean the lter
after every 100 hours of usage.
1) Remove the air lter cover.
zUsing a Phillips screwdriver to turn the xing screw
of the air lter cover until loose and remove the
cover.

2) Remove the air lter unit.
zHold the grips on the air lter unit, and remove it
from the projector.

* After removing the air lter unit, remove any large build
ups of dirt or dust in the air lter unit bay and the air
intake port on the projector.
3) Vacuum dirt and dust from the air lter
unit.
zDo not wash the air lter unit.
