TV Aspect
Choose the setting to suit your television
and preference.
• 4:3 Pan &Scan: Regular as pect television (4: 3)

prohibited by the disc).

playing NTSC discs (\ page 11, Video

• PCM Select to suit the ty pe of equipment you conn ected to the HDMI AV OUT
terminal (\ page 9).
Select “Bitstrea m” when the equipment ca n decode the bitstr eam (digital
form of multi-channel d ata). Otherwise, s elect “PCM”.
(If the bitstream is out put to the equipment wi thout a decoder, high levels o f
noise can be output and m ay damage your speakers an d hearing.)

Video is also output fr om the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT termin al, but only in 480i or 576i
(interlace).
• Off: Whe n connected throug h the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminal. V ideo is output
from the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT termi nal according to the se tting of the “Video
Output Mode” (\ page 20, Pic ture Menu) terminal. Vid eo is also output from t he
HDMI AV OUT terminal, but only in 480p /576p (progressi ve).
Audio Output • On: Whe n audio output is from th e HDMI AV OUT terminal. (Dependi ng on the capabilitie s
of the connected equi pment, audio output m ay differ from the audio s ettings of the
main unit.)
• Off: Whe n audio output is not fro m the HDMI AV OUT terminal. (The audi o is output using
the settings of the main u nit.)
