MCi8080 can also be the UPnP media server
of such computers and other UPnP devices
that are connected to the home Wi-Fi network,
if MCi8080 is turned on or switched to active
standby.
Connect a hard disk drive (HDD)* to MCi8080.
Music and pictures on the HDD can be played
on such computers and UPnP devices.
Tip
*The Hard disk dr ive (HDD) can have a •
maximum capaci ty of 160 GB, or up to 40, 000
media files.
Stream from a UPnP server
You can stream music/photos between
computers and MCi8080, when
• MCi808 0 is connected to home Wi -Fi/
wired network;
Music sharing is se t up on the computers, •
other UPnP ser vers that are also
connected to the hom e Wi-Fi/wired
network.
With the music sharing software (the supplied
Media Browser and TwonkyMedia Server),
such computers can work as UPnP media
servers (music/photo libraries) of MCi8080, if
they are turned on.
Through the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)
protocols, a UPnP media server allows music
or picture files to be streamed from the server
to a UPnP client device (e.g. MCi8080). On the
UPnP client device, you can play the music and
pictures from the server.
