nRECORD/OTR Recordand OTR This records the TV channel
thatyou have selected at that moment.
mSTANDBY Switchoff This switches off the machine. If
youpress mSTANDBY itwill automatically
cancelany menu function you have chosen
andwill stop a TIMER-recording.
P;Channeland menu button This changes to the
nextnumbered TV channel (for example,
2to 3). It also moves the cursor up if you have
themenu on screen.
P=Channeland menu button This changes to the
previousnumbered TV channel (for example,
3to 2). It also moves the cursor down if you
havethe menu on screen.
QMenubutton This moves the cursor left.
PMenubutton This moves the cursor right.
MENU Menubutton This calls up the main menu or
cancelsthe menu.
OK Storeand confirm This stores or confirms any
programmeyou have entered.
CLEAR(CL) DeleteThisdeletes the last programme you
haveentered or clears the TIMER.

0-9 Digitbuttons These are the buttons you use to select channels and programme
themachine.
HRewindIf you have pressed STOP or STANDBY, this rewinds the cassette.
Ifyou have pressed PLAY, this scans the picture in reverse.
PLAYGPlayback This plays a recorded cassette.
IForwardwind If you have pressed STOP or STANDBY, this winds the cassette
on.If you have pressed PLAY, this scans the picture forward.
INDEXEIndex search If you use this button with Hor I, it searches for the
previousor next recording on the tape.
STILL/JOGON RStill picture and JOG on This stops the tape and shows the picture at that
momentas a still picture. It can also switch on the ’JOG’ function.
oSHUTTLEIf you are holding the picture on STILL, the outer dial allows you to
selectthe speed at which the picture will move on.
$JOGIf you are holding the picture on STILL, the inner dial allows you to move
thepicture on slowly.
STOPhPause and stop This stops the tape, except during TIMER recording.
SMART SMARTThis adjusts the picture while you are playing a cassette.
COUNTER CounterThis shows how much of the tape you have played.
MONITOR TVmonitor This switches between the picture on TV and on your cassette.

TVmSwitch off This switches off the TV.
TVyTV sound off This switches off the sound completely.
PpTVprogramme This changes the programme number up and down.
