Ifyou turn random play on during FLD and then
returnto the playback display, FRDM appears in
thedisplay.
Scanning folders and tracks
Whileyou are using FLD, the beginning of
eachtrack in the selected folder plays for
about10 seconds. When you are using DSC ,
thebeginning of the first track of each folder
isplayed for about 10 seconds.
1 Selectthe repeat range.
Referto Repeating play on the previous page.
2 PressFUNCTION to select SCAN.
PressFUNCTION until SCAN appears in the
display.
3 Pressato turn scan play on.
SCAN:ON appears in the display. The first 10
secondsof each track of the current folder (or
thefirst track of each folder) is played.
4 Whenyou find the desired track (or
folder)press bto turn scan play off.
SCAN:OFF appears in the display. The track
(orfolder) will continue to play.
#Ifthe display has automatically returned to
theplayback display, select SCAN again by press-
ingFUNCTION.
Notes
!Aftertrack or folder scanning is finished, nor-
malplayback of the tracks will begin again.
!Ifyou turn scan play on during FLD and then

Pausing MP3/WMA/WAVplayback
Pauselets you temporarily stop playback of
theMP3/WMA/WAV.
1 PressFUNCTION to select PAUSE.
PressFUNCTION until PAUSE appears in the
display.
2 Pressato turn pause on.
PAUSE:ONappears in the display. Play of the
currenttrack pauses.
3 Pressbto turn pause off.
PAUSE:OFFappears in the display. Play will re-
sumeat the same point that you turned pause
on.
Note
Youcan also turn pause on or off by pressing
PAUSE.
Selecting the search method
Youcan switch the search method between
fastforward/reverse and searching every 10
track.
1 PressFUNCTION to select FF/REV.
PressFUNCTION until FF/REV appears in the
display.
#Ifthe search method ROUGH has been pre-
viouslyselected, ROUGH will be displayed.
2 Presscor dto select the search meth-
