Recalling equalizer curves
Thereare seven stored equalizer cur ves which
youcan easily recall at any time. Here is a list
ofthe equalizer curves:

!Custom1and Custom2 are adjusted equal-
izercurves that you create.Adjustments

correctionis made to the sound. This is
usefulto check the effect of the equalizer
curvesby switching alternatively between
Flatand a set equalizer curve.
%PressEQ to select the equalizer.
PressEQ repeatedly to switch between the fol-
lowingequalizers:
Powerful—Natural—Vocal—Flat—Custom1
—Custom2—SuperBass
Adjusting equalizer curves
Thefactory supplied equalizer curves,with the
exceptionof Flat, can be adjusted to a fine de-
gree(nuance control).
1 UseMULTI-CONTROL to select the gra-
phicequalizer adjustment.
Powerfulappears in the display.
#Ifthe equalizer curve has been previously se-
lected,the curve of that previously selected will
bedisplayed instead of Powerful.
2 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
selectan equalizer curve.
Eachtime MULTI-CONTROL is pushed left or
right,equalizer curves areselected in the fol-
lowingorder:
Powerful—Natural—Vocal—Flat—Custom1
—Custom2—SuperBass
3 PushMULTI-CONTROL up or down to
adjustthe equalizer curve.
Eachtime MULTI-CONTROL is pushed up or
down,the equalizer cur ve increases or de-
creasesrespectively.
+6to –6is displayed as the equalizer cur ve is
increasedor decreased.
#Theactual range of the adjustments are differ-
entdepending on which equalizer curve isse-
lected.
#Theequalizer curve with all frequencies set to
0cannotbe adjusted.
Adjusting 16-band graphic
equalizer
For Custom1and Custom2 equalizer cur ves,
youcan adjust the level of each band.
!Aseparate Custom1 curve can be created
foreach source. (The built-in CD player and
themulti-CD player are set to the same
equalizeradjustment setting automati-
cally.)If you make adjustments when a
curveother than Custom2 is selected, the
equalizercurve settings will bememorized
inCustom1.
!ACustom2curve can becreated common
toall sources. If you make adjustments
whenthe Custom2 curve is selected, the
Custom2curve will be updated.
