Display between songs
When in the KARAOKE MODE (when the KARAOKE MODE indicator on the front panel is lit), during pause or when a disc has stopped playing, karaoke bird characters are displayed.
When no disc is loaded
Notes
•With DVDs, some discs may have a Menu function. With this kind of disc, since operations are in line with menu selections, there is no SINGLE PLAY mode. In addition, there is no karaoke bird.
•When playing a Super VCD/Video CD that has Playback Control with Playback Control on (page 27), there is no SINGLE PLAY mode. In addition, there is no karaoke bird between songs.
•With the KARAOKE MODE (when the KARAOKE MODE indicator on the front panel is lit), depending on the TV you’re using and mic volume level, there may be distortion when playing DVDs, CDs or Super VCDs/Video CDs. In this case, set the ATTENUATOR switchon the rear panel to on.
•The sound from the microphone in Karaoke mode is output from the center speaker, and the echo is output from the front left and right channels in

Adjust with the digital echo level knob.

Depending on the room, there may be howling if the echo level is too high (page 36).
Changing performance key
Press KEY CONTROL.
Each button can be used to raise or lower the key in 5 steps. High: The key is raised
Low: The key is lowered

Adjustments can also be made at “Key Control” in the Karaoke Setup menu (page 41).
Operation is possible with the mic

•Any Pioneer microphone with key control function can be used. Refer to the mic’s User’s Manual for details concerning Key control operation.
•The mic operation buttons will not function unless the jack is connected to the mic control jack and the mic switch is turned on.
