Remote Control of Other Components

Learning mode: Programming signals from other remote controls

If preset codes are not available for your component(s), or the available preset codes do not operate correctly, you can use this function to program in signals from the remote control(s) of your other component(s). This operation can also be used after recalling a preset code to program additional operations not covered in the preset codes.

1Turn on your TV and the receiver.

Make sure your TV is set to the appropriate video input (e.g. VIDEO 1).

2Press REMOTE SETUP.

The REMOTE SETUP menu appears on your TV screen.

Select Remote

Setup Mode

Preset Recall

Remote SETUP+2

Learning

Remote SETUP+3

Multi-Operation

Remote SETUP+4

Direct Function

3Press REMOTE SETUP and 2 at the same time to

select the LEARNING SETUP mode.

All the MULTI CONTROL buttons (except the TUNER button) start to blink.

To cancel LEARNING SETUP mode

Press REMOTE SETUP.

Learning Setup

1Place both commanders pointing at each other.

2Select the item from the Multi-control buttons that should be duplicated. (ex. DVD) Multi-control button starts blinking.

EXIT=Remote setup

4Press MULTI CONTROL for the component you want to control.

Each button can be set to control one of the following components.

The selected button continues to blink.

Learning Setup

3Press one button that should be duplicated.

4Multi-Contorol button lights up.

5Press one button on the original commander, and hold 2 to 10 seconds.

6Repeat this process to duplicate next command. EXIT=Remote setup
