Trainingmay include some risk. Before beginning a
regulartraining program, answer the following questions
concerningyour health status. If you answer yes to any of
thesequestions, consult a physician before starting any
trainingprogram.
Haveyou been physically inactive for the past five years?
Doyou have high blood pressure or high blood
cholesterol?
Doyou have symptoms of any disease?
Areyou taking any blood pressure or heart medication?
Doyou have a history of breathing problems?
Areyou recovering from a serious illness or medical
treatment?
Doyou use a pacemaker or other implanted electronic
device?
Doyou smoke?
Areyou pregnant?
Notethat in addition to training intensity, medication for
heartconditions/blood pressure/psychological
conditions/asthma/breathing/etc,as well as some energy
drinks,alcohol, and nicotine may also affect heart rate.
Itis important to be sensitive to your body’s responses
duringtraining. If you feel unexpected pain or excessive
fatiguewhen training, stop the exercise or continue at a
lighterintensity.
