Ifyou have a pacemaker, defibrillator or other implanted
electronicdevice, you use the Polar FT40 at your own risk.
Beforestarting use, take a maximal training stress test
underthe supervision of a physician. The test is to ensure
thesafety and reliability of the simultaneous use of the
pacemakerand the Polar FT40.
Ifyou are allergic to any substance that comes into
contactwith your skin or if you suspect an allergic
reactiondue to using the product, check the listed
materialsin Technical Specifications. To avoid any skin
reactionto the transmitter, wear it over a shirt. Moisten
theshirt well under the electrodes to ensure flawless
operation.If you use insect repellent on your skin, make
surethat it does not come into contact with the
transmitter.
Exerciseequipment with electronic components may
causeinterfering stray signals.
Totackle these problems, try the following:
1. Removethe transmitter from your chest and use the
exerciseequipment as you would normally.
2. Movethe wrist unit around until you find an area in
whichit displays no stray reading or does not flash the
heartsymbol. Interference is often worst right in front
ofthe display panel of the equipment, while the left or
rightside of the display is relatively free of disturbance.
3. Putthe transmitter back on your chest and keep the
wristunit in this interference-free area as much as
possible.
Ifthe Polar FT40 still does not work, the piece of
equipmentmay be electrically too noisy for wireless heart
ratemeasurement.
