Mesh Topology

A mesh topology describes a fabric in which each chassis has at least one port directly connected to each other chassis in the fabric. The example mesh fabric shown in Figure 3-2has the following characteristics:

„Each link contributes up to 200 MB/s of bandwidth between switches, 400 MB/s in full duplex. Because of multiple parallel paths, there is less competition for this bandwidth than with a cascade or a Multistage topology.

„Latency between any two device ports is one chassis hop.

„40 Fibre Channel ports are available for devices.
