12.1 Troubleshooting Flow Chart

Turn up thermostat.

NO

Does the blower turn on?

 

YES

Place a jumper across the

 

thermostat terminals.

NO

Does the blower turn on?

 

YES

 

Check thermostat wiring

 

and replace thermostat if

 

necessary.

 

Unplug burner and check

 

Is there power 120 V at

the burner?

NO

Check relay wiring (if applicable) and wiring

to the burner.

Is the igniter gap

YES

Unplug burner. Does the

blower turn freely?

 

YES

 

Replace blower.

 

Is the vent pipe or the inlet of

Is the blower obstructed?

NO

Blower bearings may have

failed. Replace blower.

Is there spark at the igniter? NO igniter and ignition wire. Are NO they damaged?

Replace igniter and ignition wire as needed.

Replace transformer.

Replace ignition module.

 

Remove obstruction.

Repair, replace, or tighten hoses as necessary.
