Basic VCR Recording

Before starting

1.Check TV channel and Antenna connections.

2.Check the remaining time on the tape.

You can record a TV show in progress by inserting a blank tape and pressing the (REC) button. You can even add time in 30-minute increments up to 4 hours by pressing the (REC)button repeatedly.

Be sure your videotape has a Record Safety

Note Tab. If the tab is missing, you can cover the opening with a small piece of tape.

Warning: Do not cover this opening unless you are sure you want to record over the tape.

CAUTION

1

Insert a blank VHS tape into the VCR deck.

• Make sure the tape is long enough to record the

entire program.

2 Press the 0–9buttons or the CH/TRK (/ ) buttons to select the desired channel.

Press the INPUT SEL. button to select AV 1, AV 2 or DV if recording from an external

device connected to the front or rear AV inputs, respectively.

3 Press the REC SPEED button on the remote con- trol to set the Record Speed to one of the follow- ing options:

SP – Standard Play, for best picture quality.

SLP – Super Long Play, for maximum recording time (3 times SP).

When you watch or record on the VCR during DVD Recording, some function buttons

The message “This function is not available.”

 

 

will be displayed.

 

 

 

 

 

Press the (REC) button on the remote control or

Press the STOP button to stop or finish a record-

5 ing in progress.

Pausing / Resuming

Press the REC PAUSE button to pause a recording in progress.

Press the REC PAUSE button again during pause to resume recording.

You can switch channels by pressing the CH/TRK ( / ) buttons while recording pauses.

Check Remaining Time

Recording

Press INFO. button on the remote control.

Following information will be displayed.

 

(Current deck status, recording speed, remaining

 

time, input channel, current time.)

Note

The selected Record Speed will appear on the front panel display and on-screen display.
