Puntual

El modo Puntual calcula la cantidad de luz en el centro. Al tomar una fotografía en condiciones en las que hay una luz de fondo fuerte detrás de un sujeto, la cámara ajusta la exposición para poder fotografiar el sujeto correctamente. Por ejemplo, cuando selecciona el modo Multi en condiciones de luz de fondo fuerte, la cámara calcula que la cantidad total de luz es abundante, lo que da como resultado una fotografía más oscura. El modo Puntual puede evitar esta situación, ya que calcula la cantidad de luz en un área designada.

El sujeto está en colores brillantes y el fondo es oscuro. El modo Puntual se recomienda en situaciones como ésta, donde hay una gran diferencia de exposición entre el sujeto y el fondo.

Al centro

El modo Al centro calcula un área más amplia que la del modo Puntual. Suma la cantidad de luz en la porción central de la toma (60 a 80 %) y la del resto de ella (20 a 40 %). Este modo se recomienda para situaciones donde hay una pequeña diferencia de brillo entre el objetivo y el fondo, o bien cuando un área del objetivo es grande en comparación con la composición general de la fotografía.
