Formatting memory

Use to format the internal memory or a memory card. If you run [Format] on the memory, all images, including the protected images, are deleted. Be sure to download important images to your PC before formatting the memory.

Initialization

All camera menu and function settings are restored to their default values. However, values for Date & Time, Language, and Video Out are not changed.

[Yes] : A window for confirming the selection displays. Select [Yes]. A [Formatting] message appears and the memory will be formatted. If you run FORMAT in Play mode, a [Format is completed] message will appear.

[No]* : The memory is not formatted.

Be sure to run [Format] on the following types of memory card.

- A new memory card, or an unformatted memory card.

Language

- A memory card that has a file this camera can't recognize or one

that has been taken from another camera.

- Always format the memory card using this camera. If you insert a

memory card that has been formatted using other cameras,

memory card readers, or PCs, you will get a [Card Error]

message.

- If you have installed a memory card, [Format] formats the card.

If you have no card installed, [Format] formats the camera’s

internal memory.

You can choose the language displayed on the LCD screen. The language settting is preserved even if the battery is removed and re-inserted.
