7Using Your Printer with
a Macintosh
Your printer supports Macintosh systems with a built-in USB
interfac e or 10/1 00 Base-T X network interface card. W hen you
print a file from a Macintosh computer, you can use the CUPS driver
by installing the PPD file.

OTE
:
Some printers do not support a network
interface. Make sure that your printer supports a
network interface by referring to Printer Specifications
in your Printer User’s Guide.

Installing Software
The CD-R OM that came with your printer provides y ou with the
PPD file that allows you to u s e th e CUPS driver or A p pl e
LaserWriter driver
(only available when you use a printer
which supports the PostScript driver)
, for printing on a
Macintosh computer.
Installing the Printer driver

Make sure that you connect your printer to the computer.
Turn on your computer and printer.

Insert the CD- R O M which came w ith your printer into the
CD-ROM d rive.

Double-click
CD-ROM icon
that appears o n yo ur
Macintosh desktop.

Do uble- click the
MAC_Installer
folder.

Do uble- click the
Installer
icon.

Enter the password and click
OK
.

The Samsung Installer window opens. Click
Continue

Select
Easy Insta ll
and click
Install
.
Easy Insta ll
is
recommended for mo st users. All components necessary
for printe r operations wi ll be ins t a lled.
If you select
Custom Install
, you can choose individual
compone n ts to install.

The message which w arns all application will close on your
computer ap pe ars, Click
Continue
.

Select
Typical installation for a local printer
and then
click
OK
.

printer

installation is finished.

Quit
.

Uninstalling software
Un install is r equire d if yo u are upgra d i ng the software, or if
installation fails.

Make sure that you connect your printer to the computer.
Turn on your computer and printer.

Insert th e CD-ROM which came with y o u r pr inte r into th e
CD-ROM drive.

Double-click
CD-R OM icon
that appears on your
Macintosh desktop.

Double-click the
MAC_Installer
folder.

Double-click the
Installer
icon.

Enter the password and click
OK
.

The Samsung Installer window opens. Click
Continue

Select
Uninstall
and click
Uninstall

When the uninstallation is done, click
