11. Built-in Camera
Taking Pictures
Taking pictures with your phone’s built-in camera is as simple as
choosing a subject, pointing the lens, and pressing a button. You can
activate camera mode and take pictures whether the phone is open
or closed.
To take a picture with the flip open:
1. Select > Pictures >Camera to activate camera mode.
(Additional options are available through the camera mode
Options menu. See “Camera Mode Options” on page 89 for more
information.)
Shortcut: You can also activate camera mode by pressing the camera key
twice or pressing and holding the side camera key. (See illustration on page 2.)
2. Using the phone’s main LCD as a viewfinder, aim the camera
lens at your subject.
3. To take the picture, press , , Capture (left softkey), or the
side camera key, until the shutter sounds. (The picture will
automatically be saved in the In Camera folder.)
䡲To return to camera mode to take another picture, press .
4. Press Next (right softkey) for more options:
䡲Take New Picture to return to camera mode to take another
picture.
䡲Sendto send the picture to up to 16 contacts at one time.

䡲Uploadto upload the picture you just took to the Xtra Online
Gallery.
䡲Prints by Mail to order 4" x 6" prints of the pictures by mail
and deliver them to any address you set up at Picture
Message Web site.
䡲Set as to assign the picture. Select your desired option and
press .
䡲Details/Edit to edit or display your picture’s details.
䡲Delete to delete the picture you just took.
䡲Pictures In Camera to go to the In Camera folder to review
your saved pictures.
Note: The Prints by Mail service will be available late 2006.
