Receiving Faxes

The machine has two modes for receiving faxes:

AUTO mode:

Select this mode when you only want to receive faxes on the line connected to the machine. The machine will answer all calls automatically and receive incoming faxes.

MANUAL mode:

Select this mode when you have an extension phone connected to the same line as the machine and you want to receive both faxes and voice calls. All

calls, including faxes, must be answered by picking up the extension phone.Setting the reception mode

The reception mode is initially set to AUTO. To change the reception mode, follow the steps below.

♦If you have the dual-line option, use the procedure on page 70 to select the reception mode. Note that the reception mode can only be selected for Line 1 (Line 2 is fixed at AUTO).
