Important safety instructions
When using your telephone equip ment, basic safety p recautions shou ld always be followed:
1. Read and understand all instru ctions.
2. Follow all warnings and instruc tions marked on the pr oduct.
3. Unplug this product from the wal l outlet before clea ning. Do not use liqui d or aerosol cleaner s. Use a damp cloth for c leaning.
4. Do not use this product near water (for exa mple, near a bathtub, ki tchen sink, or swimm ing pool).
5. Do not place this product on an unst able surface suc h as a table, shelf or st and. This product m ay fall, causing seri ous damage.
6. Slots and openings i n the back or bottom o f the teleph one base and handset are provided for ventilation. To protect them from overheati ng, these o penings must not be
blocked by placing the product on a soft sur face such as a bed, sofa or rug. Thi s product should never be pla ced near or over a radiator or heat regis ter. This product should
not be placed in an area where proper ve ntilation is not prov ided.
7. This product should be operated only from the t ype of power source indicat ed on the marking label. If you are not sure of the ty pe of power supply in your home, consul t your
dealer or local power company.
8. Do not allow anything to rest on the po wer cord. Do not insta ll this product whe re the cord may be walked o n.
9. Never push objects of any kind into this product through slots in the telephon e base or handset as they may touch dangerous voltage poin ts or create a short circuit that could
result in a risk of re or electric sh ock. Never spill liq uid of any kind on the pro duct.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this pro duct, but take it to an authorized servi ce facility. Opening or removi ng parts of the telephone base or hands et other
than specied access doors m ay expose you to danger ous voltages or other r isks. Incorrec t reassembling ca n cause electric sh ock when the produ ct is subsequentl y used.
11. Do not o verload wall outlet s and extension cor ds as this can result in t he risk of re or elect ric shock.
12. Unp lug this product fr om the wall outlet and r efer servicing to an a uthorized servi ce facility und er the following con ditions:
A. When the power supply cord or plug is dam aged or frayed.
B. If liquid has been spilled onto the pro duct.
C. If the product has been exposed to rain or wate r.
D. If the product does not operate normally b y following the oper ating instructi ons. Adjust only tho se controls that are c overed by the operati on instructions , as improper
adjustment of other contro ls may result in damage a nd often requires ex tensive work by an autho rized technicia n to restore the produc t to normal operati on.
E. If the product has been dropped and t he telephone base an d/or handset has bee n damaged.
F. If the product exhibits a distin ct change in perfo rmance.
13. The power unit is inten ded to be corr ectly oriente d in a vertica l or oor mount position. The prongs are not designed to h old the plug i n place if it i s plugged into a ceiling,
under-the-table or cabinet ou tlet.
14. Avoid u sing a telephone (othe r than cordless) duri ng an electrical s torm. There is a remote r isk of electric sh ock from lightnin g.
15. Do not u se the telephone to r eport a gas leak in th e vicinity of the le ak.
16. Onl y put the handset of your t elephone next to your e ar when it is in normal t alk mode.
