Operation of Other Functions

RECORDING WITH TAPE DECK

The volume, tone(bass, treble) settings, etc. have no effect on the recording signals.

While playing a disc in a Dolby Virtual Speaker or Dolby Headphone mode, the selected mode has effect on the recording signals.

Select the desired input as recording source except TAPE.

Start recording on the component connected to TAPE.

Start play on the desired input.

DIGITAL AUDIO RECORDING WITH MD RECORDER RECORDING WITH TAPE DECK

When the OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT of the unit is connected to the DIGITAL IN of an MD recorder or CD recorder, you can enjoy high-quality sound of digital recording.(Refer to “CONNECTING AUDIO/VIDEO COMPONENTs” and “CONNECTING DIGITAL OUT” on page 7 and the operating instructions of the MD recorder or CD recorder.)

Notes :

Digital recording is available for the digital audio program sources such as CDs, MP3 discs, some DVDs, etc.

In most DVDs as well as some CDs recorded in bitstream signal format, digital recording may not be available.

In this case, you should set the SPDIF Output to (SPDIF/)PCM.(Refer to “When selecting the SPDIF Output” on page 35.)

There are some restrictions on recording digital signals. When making digital recordings, refer to the operating instructions of your digital recording equipment to know what restrictions are imposed.

Select DVD as recording source.

Start recording on the component connected to OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT.

Start play on DVD player of the unit.
