Troubleshooting & Repair

POWER DRIVE TROUBLESHOOTING

Power Drive won’t engage.

I

Power drive runs erratically.

I

Drive chains chatter.

 

Unusual noise or vibration while

 

unit is moving.

 

 

Bail lever cable too loose.

Bail lever cable end not engaged in clutch lever.

Drive belt broken or loose.

Drive chain(s) broken.

Drive chain(s) off sprocket.

Crankshaft key broken or miss- ing from unit.

9 Clutch lever obstructed.

Drive belt worn.

Drive chains loose.

Rotor overloaded with material.

Non-organic matter caught in shredding chamber.

Move clip up to next link.

Insert cable end in clutch lever.

Repair or replace.

Repair or replace.

Reinstall chain(s) on sprocket.

Replace key.

Clear obstruction.

Replace drive belt.

Adjust sprocket position.

Allow unit to clear itself before feeding more material.

Follow shut-down procedure and remove material from unit.

ELECTRIC START TROUBLESHOOTING

I Electric start won’t Ioperate.

Battery

dead.

Charge Battery.

Circuit

breaker tripped.

Allow 1 minute for auto. reset.

Battery terminals dirty.

Clean terminals.

Loose wires/battery cables.

Check wiring and tighten

 

 

 

 

as required.

Ignition switch inoperative.

Repair or replace switch.

Solenoid inoperative.

Repair or replace solenoid.

Safety switch inoperative.

Repair or replace switch.

Starter motor inoperative.

Repair or replace starter motor.

OPTIONAL VACUUM HOSE TROUBLESHOOTING

Vacuum hose not working.

-Vacuum intake nozzle flap open, Material too wet.

Hose not attached securely.

Hose obstructed or damaged. Engine not running at

full RPM.

Hose nozzle vacuum adjustment ring opened too far.

Close vacuum intake nozzle flap.

Allow material to dry.

Attach hose securely.

Inspect hose - repair or replace.

Set control to full fast position - See dealer if problem persists.

Close adjustment ring.
