Adding summary information

Specific audio file types allow you to store text fields of summary information in addition to the audio and video data. File types offering this feature include WAV, AVI, ASF, and RealMedia™ file formats. You can view and edit these text fields using Sound Forge.

Viewing and editing summary information

The Summary tab is used to view and edit the summary information stored in the file.

1.From the File menu, choose Properties. The Properties dialog appears.

2.Click the Summary tab.

3.Edit the summary information as needed and click OK.

Viewing extended summary information

1.From the File menu, choose Properties. The Properties dialog appears.

2.Click the Summary tab. The Summary dialog appears.

3.Click the Extended button. The Extended Summary dialog appears. The dialog is divided into two sections: the Fields pane and the Contents pane.

The Fields pane

The Fields pane displays the following components for each available field:

A check box to turn the field on or off.

The abbreviation of the field type.

A short description of the field.
