Adjusting the image and audio settings

1 Press DISPLAY in stop mode.

The Setup Display appears.

2 Press < or , repeatedly to select “AV,” then press ENTER.

3 Press M or m repeatedly to select an item, then press ENTER.

4 Press M or m repeatedly to select a setting, then press ENTER.

5 Press DISPLAY to turn off the Setup Display.

xTV Type

Select the aspect ratio of the connected TV. The default setting varies, depending on the country model.

4:3 Pan Scan Select this when you connect a 4:3 screen TV. This setting displays the wide picture on the entire screen and cuts off the portions that do not fit.

4:3 Letter

Select this when you connect a 4:3

Box

screen TV. This setting displays a wide

 

picture with bands displayed on the

 

upper and lower portions of the screen.

 

 

16:9

Select this when you connect a wide-

Set the DTS settings to enjoy 5.1 channel sound when an optional amplifier is connected (see “Enjoying the 5.1 channel sound with the optional amplifier” (page 42)).

xData CD Priority (MP3, JPEG only)

Set priority data you want to play, when you play the data disc (CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW) contained MP3 audio tracks and JPEG image files. When you change this setting, eject and reload the disc.

The default setting is underlined.

MP3

If an MP3 file exists on the disc,
