DNS (p. 33, 39)

An abbreviation for Domain Name System. This “DNS” is sometimes referred to as the “name server”, “primary DNS server”, “primary name server”, etc. This is a server that replaces a domain name with an IP address. This is specified by an IP address.

Email (p. 44)

Using a network, such as the Internet, you can send and receive messages very quickly. Email is easy to edit or store.

Email address (p. 34)

This is the destination address for email. There is no need to specify the country and the house number. Every address in the world is unique. You can receive email even if you are in another country.

Forward (p. 65)

To forward a received email message to another person. “Fw:” (Forward) is added to the beginning of the title to indicate that the email is a forwarded email.

ID (p. 34)

Used to identify the user in combination with a password when accessing the Internet through the Internet service provider.

Internet (p. 31)

A worldwide network of computers. You can use email, information retrieval services, etc., over this network.

Internet service provider (p. 31)

Sometimes referred to as the “Provider”, “ISP”, etc. It is a company that provides access to the Internet.

LAN

An abbreviation for Local Area Network. A LAN is a network of computers within a limited area connected by a comparatively high speed data transmission method, such as Ethernet.

A related page address shown on another web page as a web link.

Login

Connect to a specific service by entering an ID and password.

Passkey (p. 23)

The passkey is an identification number needed to allow two Bluetooth device to communicate with each other. This “Passkey” is sometimes referred to as the “Bluetooth passkey”, “PIN”, “Bluetooth PIN”, etc.
