If you use a partially recorded MD, recording starts after the recorded tracks.

The track numbers of the CD are recorded on to the MD automatically.

Depending on the disc, CD TEXT information may also be recorded. If “CD TEXT” flashes during recording, press NAME EDIT/CHARACTER, and then press ENTER/YES to record the title of the current track. (If “CD TEXT” is lit, it is automatically recorded.)

If the MD becomes full during recording

The CD player and the MD deck stop automatically.

Notes

If the play mode is set to the Repeat or Shuffle Play, it automatically switches to normal play at step 3.

If the MD is record protected, “C11” and

“Protected” appear alternately and the MD cannot be recorded. Remove the MD, then slide the record protection tab to the closed position (see page 27).

If “Retry” flashes in the display, a reading failure has occurred, and the system is trying to read the data again (see page 14).

Auto Cut function will not operate during Synchro- recording.

Recording a CD on an MD at high speedHigh-Speed CD-MD Synchro Recording

This function allows you to record a CD on an MD at twice the speed of normal CD-MD Synchro Recording.

1 Insert a recordable MD.

2 Place a CD that you want to record.

To record tracks in the order you programmed, press PLAY MODE repeatedly until “PROGRAM” appears. (If you have not made a programme, see page 20.)

3 Press CD SYNC HIGH SPEED.

×2” appears in the display. “MD New Track” and remaining recordable time on the MD appear alternately.

The MD deck stands by for recording and the CD player pauses for play.

4 Press MD S.

High-speed recording starts. You cannot

monitor the recorded signal nor pause

during recording. When the recording is completed, the CD player and the MD deck stop automatically.
