Listening to the radio

You can listen to a radio station either by selecting a preset station, or by manually tuning in the station.

Listening to a preset radio station

— Preset Tuning

Before tuning to preset stations, be sure to preset them first (see “Presetting radio stations” on page 58).

1 Press FUNCTION +/– repeatedly until “TUNER FM” or “TUNER AM” appears in the display (or press TUNER/BAND on the unit repeatedly to select “FM” or “AM”).

2 Press PRESET +/– repeatedly to select the preset station you want.

Listening to a non-preset radio station

— Manual Tuning

1 Press FUNCTION +/– repeatedly until “TUNER FM” or “TUNER AM” appears in the display (or press TUNER/BAND on the unit repeatedly to select “FM” or “AM”).

2 Press TUNING +/– repeatedly to tune in the station you want.

Tips

For preset tuning, you can use the numeric buttons to select a preset station. Press the numeric button(s) to enter the preset number and then press ENTER.

To improve broadcast reception, adjust the supplied antennas or connect a commercially available external antenna.

When an FM stereo program has static noise, press FM MODE repeatedly until “MONO” lights up in the display. There will be no stereo effect, but the reception will improve.
