The timer does not function.

Check the timer setting and set the correct time (pages 73 and 74).

The color irregularity on a TV screen persists.

Turn off the TV at once, then turn it on after

15 to 30 minutes. If the color irregularity still persists, place the speakers further away from the TV.

The sound from the component connected to the VIDEO/SAT IN jacks is distorted.

If “VIDEO” appears in the display when you press VIDEO/SAT on the unit, switch to “SAT” function (see “Listening to a connected VCR or satellite tuner” on page 81).

SpeakersSound comes from one channel or unbalanced left and right volume.

Place the speakers as symmetrically as possible.

Check that the speaker are connected securely and correctly.

The source being played back is monaural.

Adjust the level of each speaker (page 56).

The sound comes from the center speaker only.

Depending on the disc, the sound may come from the center speaker only.

There is no sound from the optional sub woofer.

Set the sub woofer level to the appropriate level.

No sound is produced from the sub woofer when you play back a DVD VIDEO that does not have sub woofer output recorded.

The software being played back has limited sound effects.

Check that the sub woofer is connected securely and correctly.

Make sure that “SUBWOOFER” is set to “YES” (page 55).

There is no sound from the surround speaker.

Set the surround speaker level to the appropriate level.

The software being played back has limited sound effects. Check the volume with the test tone (page 56).

Check that the surround speakers are connected securely and correctly.

Make sure the size setting for “SURROUND” is set to “BEHIND” or “SIDE” (page 55).

There is no sound from the center speaker.

Set the center speaker level to the appropriate level.

The software being played back has limited sound effects. Check the volume with the test tone (page 56).

Check that the center speaker is connected securely and correctly.

Make sure that the size setting for “CENTER” is set to “YES” (page 55).

Sound lacks bass.

Check that the speaker’s + and – terminals are connected correctly.
