Thisdigital stil l camera uses 8 cm CD-Rs/
CD-RWsas recording media. “CD-R” or
“CD-RW”mentionedabove is indicated as

Donot shake or strike the camera
Inaddition to malfun ctions and inability to
recordimages, this may render the discs
unusableor image data br eakdown, damage
orloss may occur.
LCDscreen, finder (only models
witha finder) and lens
•TheLCD screen and the finder are
manufacturedusing extre mely high-
precisiontechnology s o over99 .99% of
thepixels are operational for effectiveuse.
However,there may be some tiny black
pointsand/or bright points(white, red,
blueor green in color) th at constantly
appearon the LCD screen andthe finder.
Thesepoints are normal in the
manufacturingprocess and do not affect
therecording in any way.
•Becareful when placing the camera near a
windowor outdoors. Exposing the LCD
screen,the finder or the lens to direct
sunlightfor long periods may caus e
malfunctions.
Donot get t he camera wet
Whentaking pictures outdoors in the rain or
undersimilar conditions , be careful not to
getthe camera wet. If moisture
condensationoccurs, refer to page 87 and
followthe instructions on how to remove it
beforeusing the camera.
Backup recommendation
Toavoid the potential risk of data loss,
alwayscopy (back up) data to a disc.
Whenthe camera i s used for long
periods
Notethat the camera body maybecome hot.
Handlingof the movable lens
Thiscamera uses a movable lens. Be careful
notto strike or apply excessive force to the
lensportion.
