When shooting images against a light source

If the flash is set to Auto (no indicator), shooting against a light source automatically flashes even when there is enough light around the subject (Daylight synchro).

The best performance may not be given depending on shooting conditions.

When you do not want to use the flash, set the

flash mode to (No flash).

To reduce the red-eye phenomenon when shooting live subjects

Set [Red Eye Reduction] to [On] in the SET

UP settings (page 105). indicator appears on the LCD screen, and the flash pre-strobes before shooting to reduce the red-eye phenomenon.

Red-eye reduction may not produce the desired effects depending on individual differences, the distance to the subject, if the subject does not see the pre-strobe, or other conditions.

Recording images with the AF illuminator

The AF illuminator is fill light to focus more easily on a subject in dark surroundings. When not using this function, set [AF Illuminator] to [Off] in the SET UP settings (page 105).

ON appears on the screen and the AF illuminator emits red light when the shutter button is pressed halfway until the focus is locked.
