aserver and its applications, allowing you to diagnose and isolate faults as they occur.

Whatis the Diagnostic Framework?

TheApplication Server Diagnostic Framework is a monitoring framework that denes and
implementsa set of services that run within the application server standard life cycle. With the
DiagnosticService, you can dene, create, collect, and access diagnostic data generated by a
runningserver and the applications it deploys.

Diagnostic Service Framework

Thediagnostic service reports conguration details for the application server instances. It is
usefulfor diagnosing application server problems such as exceptions, performance issues, and
otherunexpected results. From within the Admin Console Diagnostic Service you can:
■ComputeChecksum: Collects checksum for selective Application Server binary les under
appserver_install_dir/lib ,appserver_install_dir/etc and
appserver_install_dir/bindirectory
■VerifyConguration: Captures conguration les such as, domain.xml,server.policy.
■CaptureInstall Log: Installation specic details such as Application Server version number
orpatch ID and contents of log le generated at the time of installation. Absolute path for
installationdirectory is used to determine which Installer log le is collected if there are
multipleinstallations on the same machine. The contents of config/asenv.conf is copied
fromthe installation folder for DAS as well as node agents.
